"Did you wake up from the wrong side of the bed today?" I got asked this question this morning. I remember smiling cheerfully and shaking my head vigourously in response.
Today, I left home before 9.30am and came back after 4.30pm. That's more than 7 study-hours lost! And I returned to find the house populated by my relatives. Needless to say, it wasn't a very conducive environment for studying. Oh well.. Anyway, I've resigned myself to the fact that I probably won't do well for the block tests. So, in addition to all the mugging, I'm trying to enjoy my holidays to the max.
This morning I got caught in a train delay on the purple mrt line. There were repeated announcements about the train experiencing technical difficulties causing the delay, but I got into the train anyway. I didn't mind it so much at first as I wasn't in a hurry. However, progress was really slow - with the train stopping for more than 5 minutes at each station - and I got faintly annoyed. By the third such station, I was already considering getting off the train and taking alternative modes of transport when the lady beside me turned and started up a conversation with me.
Amongst other things, she brought up the fact that trains on the NEL did not have train operators because they were directly operated from the control station. Something that had completely slipped my mind! (Oh no! Who would save us if the train got stuck somewhere?!??) Fortunately, the train started to move off - though I had to wrestle with my choices all over again at the next station.
I didn't get off after all - I couldn't imagine myself navigating my way out of Farrer Park cause I'd never been there before! Despite being uber late in reaching my destination, I'm quite glad that I stayed in there. For one, I got to preview the new train station "Woodleigh". Yup, it's between Potong Pasir and Serengoon all new and empty. And, I finally understand how to change the graph of y=f(x) to y=1/f(x) thanks to all the long delays. Yay.
Oh. Before I forget, (I just wanna jot down everything of interest that happened today because once I start studying, I need all the brain space I can spare)
I did a good deed today!
I went to offer my services to help someone to carry groceries up the flight of stairs (yup, no lift!)
Lol. So cheap thrill right? Still, the smile I recieved as thanks made my day.
So did the short bus ride home.
And the bright flashes of lightning all afternoon.
And the 5pm lunch.
And the pretty rainbow against the purple sky.
And the fact that I managed to capture the rainbow with my cam before it faded away!
Today wasn't a wrong-side-of-the-bed day after all!
It was ATTM!
